SAD! House Agent allegedly kills Colleague over N1,000 inspection fee in Abuja
A 44-year-old house agent, Arogundade Gbenga, popularly known as Baba Ibeji, has been allegedly stabbed to death by a colleague during a verbal confrontation, over N1,000 house rent inspection fee in the Federal Capital Territory.
According to a reliable family source, there was an issue of inspection fee which is N1,000 between Baba Ibeji and another agent, an Ebira man, who has a chemist shop in the area.
The man got provoked after Baba Ibeji slapped him, He brought out a knife and stabbed Baba Ibeji to death.
“The victim was rushed to Kubwa General Hospital where the doctors on duty confirmed him dead. His corpse has been deposited in the same hospital mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
“The suspect later ran away to avoid been attacked by aggrieved residents, the source said.
A security source revealed that the suspect was later arrested by police in someone’s house where he had gone to hide after the incident.
“The police have succeeded in arresting the suspect where he went to hide immediately after the incident happened.
Police also took the wife away from the area,” the source added.
However, Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, who confirmed the incident to SaharaReporters on Monday, said an investigation has commenced into the incident.
“The suspect has been arrested and detained. The case will be transferred to SCID for the investigation,” She said.
