Burna Boy: ‘Stepped back to gather energy’ – Speed Darlington speaks after prolonged detention

Controversial Nigerian singer, Speed Darlington has broken his silence after release from prolonged incarceration.
Darlington was first arrested for alleged cyber-stalking after attributing Burna Boy’s Grammy award to his connections with the embattled American rapper, Diddy.
Diddy whose legal battles with FBI made headlines, is currently facing multiple sex trafficking and rape charges.
After his initial release on bail in October, Darlington insisted that he would not cease his public criticisms until Burna Boy compensated him.
Following the development, he was rearrested during a performance in Imo State on November 27, 2024, and held in Kuje prison for an extended period.
Expressing his frustration to secure his release in a video on Instagram, the singer’s lawyer accused Burna Boy of bribing the police to keep Darlington behind bars despite being granted bail by the Federal High Court on December 23.
Darlington was finally released on January 21 2025.
But reacting to his critics release, Burna Boy in a now deleted post on Instagram, warned that Darlington would return back to jail if he ever misbehaves again.
Following his prolonged detention and warning by Burna, many netizens assumed Speed Darlington would come out regretful and subdued.
However, breaking silence after his release, Darlington ignored Burna Boy’s warning and shared a striking video of two rams locked in a fierce battle with their horns crashing against each other.
Captioning the trending clip on his Instagram page, he said ” I’m back. To those fighting, one step back, it is not running away, he went to gather energy and launch back with a banger!”
