Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, ex-Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson, and ADC Chairman, David Mark were among the prominent figures who attended the wedding of the son of former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
It was a gathering of political heavyweights in Abuja on Saturday as Dr. Chikamkpa Amaechi tied the knot with Anita Nwabueze.
The ceremony drew several notable figures, including Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, and Ex-National Chairman of the PDP, Chief Uche Secondus, alongside other dignitaries. Former Plateau State Governor, Solomon Lalong, was also in attendance. 
The wedding service took place at a Catholic church in the Federal Capital Territory.
Wives of prominent leaders also graced the occasion. They included Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of former President Goodluck Jonathan, and Mrs. Dolapo Osinbajo, wife of former Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Officiating minister, Rev. Steve Dedua, urged the couple, Dr. Chikamkpa Amaechi and Anita Nwabueze, to place God at the center of their home. He emphasized patience, unity, and faith as the foundation of a lasting marriage. “From the beginning, God made them male and female… what God has joined together, let no Man or Woman put asunder,” he declared.
He raised concerns about rising divorce rates globally, citing a 2023 report that placed Nigeria 11th among countries with high divorce cases. Dedua charged the couple not to become part of the troubling statistics.
At the reception, Governor Otti encouraged the couple to embrace dialogue in resolving disputes and to always communicate during disagreements.
The couple had earlier held their traditional marriage in Abuja last weekend.
