The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Agbarha Ward, Ughelli North Local Government Area, Delta State, has taken disciplinary action against some of its members, announcing the suspension of Chief Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi, Chief David Ohwoekevwo, Morrison Arouture, and others over alleged misconduct and activities deemed inconsistent with the party’s constitution.
The decision was reached following an emergency meeting of the Agbarha Ward Executive Committee held on March 30, 2026, at the party secretariat in Agbarha-Otor. In a formal notice addressed to the APC leadership in Ughelli North, the ward stated that “the underlisted members are hereby suspended from the party at the Ward level in line with the provisions of Article 21(2) (i), (ii), (iv), and (vi) of the Party Constitution.”
Chief Obiuwevbi, an aspirant for the Ughelli North, Ughelli South and Udu Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives, was specifically cited in the resolution, with the ward leadership alleging that he engaged in actions such as “running a parallel party structure,” which it described as conduct “capable of creating division and rancour among party loyalists.”
The resolution was formally endorsed by Ward Chairman Obus Sylvester Emoefe, Ward Vice Chairman Ejovwoke Omamose, and Ward Secretary Christopher Imoniunu, 19 other members of the Ward Executive Committee of the party.
The ward executive outlined several grounds for the suspension, including “gross misconduct and insubordination,” as well as “acts of misconduct prejudicial to party unity.” It further stressed that the alleged activities of the affected members were not in alignment with the party’s constitution and internal regulations.
According to the notice, “the suspension takes immediate effect,” signalling the ward’s commitment to upholding discipline and adherence to established party structures at the grassroots level.
The Agbarha Ward leadership also called on the Ughelli North Local Government Executive Committee of the APC to ratify its decision, stating: “We hereby call on the Local Government Executive Committee of our great party to ratify this resolution accordingly.”
When contacted for his reaction, Chief Christopher Ominimini Obiuwevbi rejected his suspension by the Agbarha Ward of the All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming what he described as “Atiku boys who crossed over to the APC” for the action. According to him, “they feel they can take control and undermine the party we built.”
He questioned the treatment of old members, asking, “What about those of us who have been in the party and delivered victories for the APC in the 2023 elections?” Alleging that some members who worked for the party are now being sidelined.
Obiuwevbi said the dispute stems from his team’s refusal to align with the new group, noting, “they do not want to work together with us… because we refused to be under them, they suspended our leaders.” He added that his camp would respond, stating, “We are also coming out with our own suspension,” and added that “as it stands now, there are effectively two factions of the APC in the ward and local government.”
Party stakeholders note that such disciplinary measures are part of the APC’s internal mechanisms to ensure order, cohesion, and respect for its constitution across all levels of the party structure.

“I don’t play politics of enmity” — Wike defends Visit to APC Chair Yilwatda(Photos)
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed insinuations following his recent visit to the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, stating that he does not practice “politics of enmity”.

Speaking with newsmen during a project inspection on Wednesday, Wike clarified that his interaction with the APC chairman was a matter of personal association and professional courtesy rather than a formal political meeting.
The Minister had inspected the ongoing construction of roads in Karu, Apo-Karshi and Kubwa, to ensure completion as scheduled.
Responding to questions regarding the lack of a formal briefing after the visit, the Minister maintained that he is under no obligation to disclose details of his private life or social interactions.
Wike argued that every individual has the freedom to associate with others regardless of political affiliations.
He maintained that the visit was private, questioning why such a personal act should be announced to the “whole world”.
He rejected the idea that members of different political parties, such as the APC and PDP, should avoid each other.
Wike reminded reporters of his long-standing relationship with Yilwatda, noting that both had served as colleagues when was a minister.

”We’re all colleagues before he left for the chairmanship of APC. So what I should do anytime I see him is to hide? Anytime he sees me, he should run away so people will not say something?”
He explained that the visit was a reciprocal gesture after Yilwatda had made several unsuccessful attempts to see him at his office.
Wike noted that as a busy minister, he often receives many visitors, and since the APC Chairman could not secure an appointment at the office, he opted to visit the APC chairman at his residence to hear what he had to say.
The Minister emphasized that his primary concern remained the fulfillment of his duties and the satisfaction of his “appointor”.
He stated that he remained indifferent to public perception or “what somebody on the road is thinking” as long as he is carrying out his assigned tasks dutifully.
”What’s important to me is what I’m doing for my people,” Wike concluded, asserting that the results of his work hold more weight than political speculation.
