Biodun Stephen criticises trend of women going out without underwear
Filmmaker Biodun Stephen has condemned the growing trend of women appearing in public without underwear, describing it as ‘nuisance’ and not a legitimate fashion choice.
In a TikTok video, Stephen recounted a recent incident at a salon where a woman’s privat3 part was inadvertently exposed due to the absence of underwear, citing it as an example of why the trend should be discouraged.
“Last week, I went to get my hair done at the salon. A lady came in to do her pedicure. As she sat, I looked at her side, I saw her vagina in full display.
“Who is teaching us all these fashion? Is it a fashion trend not to wear pant?” she asked.
She emphasised the need for women to prioritise modesty and wear suitable undergarments in public.
Stephen, who has consistently spoken out against this practice since 2015, questioned the influence behind this trend.
“I believe the first time I talked about ladies not putting on pants was in 2015. Let’s try to always wear pants, there are several types. Why don’t we like wearing pants?” she said.
She stressed that it’s unnecessary and uncomfortable for others, urging women to wear pants or other suitable undergarments.
“You are coming for a pedicure, you would at least wear something long. Must you wear mini gown or skirt without pant?
“Why is pant your enemy? Who told you pant is your enemy? Who told you it isn’t good for you? Please stop doing it. This is not fashion, it is nuisance”, she added.
Popular Nigerian singer Timaya has described late Afrobeat pioneer Fela Anikulapo-Kuti as one of the major figures responsible for the global growth of Nigerian music.
Timaya made the remarks while speaking on the Afrobeats Intelligence podcast, where he reflected on Fela’s influence on Nigerian artistes and the wider African music scene.
The singer said Fela’s contribution to music had gone beyond Nigeria, noting that the late musician continued to command significant recognition in other African countries.
According to Timaya, Fela’s music and legacy remain particularly respected in Cameroon, where he claimed a radio programme is dedicated to playing his songs on weekends.
Without Fela, nobody would have known us and we wouldn’t be here singing music. I call him Baba because he didn’t inspire only me and other Nigerians,” Timaya said.
The singer added that Fela’s impact on Nigerian music was so significant that he could not disrespect the late musician or members of his family.
Fela is the greatest man I can never in my life disrespect him nor his family,” he added.
Timaya’s comments highlight the enduring influence of Fela, whose music, activism and Afrobeat sound have continued to shape generations of Nigerian and African musicians.
Nigerian gospel artiste Nutty Josh, whose real name was Joshua Acheme Edache, has passed away following reports of a severe road accident that left him in a medical coma for nearly a month.
Kingdomboiz had earlier reported that the exact circumstances surrounding his death had not been independently confirmed, and that further details were being awaited.
New information obtained from people familiar with the situation reveals that Nutty Josh sustained injuries during an incident at a motorcycle training school in Abuja about five weeks before his death.
A runaway driver was reportedly involved in the accident. However, contrary to an earlier account, the driver was not riding a power bike.
Following the incident, he experienced persistent headaches and difficulty breathing, although the seriousness of these symptoms was reportedly not immediately known to those around him.
At one point, Nutty Josh appeared to be recovering and attended church, where he testified about how God had helped him through the incident.
However, upon his return to the hospital afterwards, medical professionals discovered that he had also sustained internal injuries.
He subsequently underwent further examination and treatment, and was later placed in a medically induced coma.
Sadly, he passed away on Sunday morning, September 20, 2026.
These details describe the events preceding his death and should not be interpreted as an officially confirmed medical cause of death.
While family members have yet to release an official detailed statement regarding the final medical cause of death, tributes continue to pour in from fans and fellow artists honoring his contributions to gospel music.

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has criticized the General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, over his comments about the performance of Abia State Governor, Alex Otti.
Suleman had recently spoken positively about Otti’s administration, saying the governor could win a second term without doing much campaigning.
Ogala, who is the African Action Congress (AAC) governorship candidate in the forthcoming Abia State election, reacted to the clergyman’s comments in an Instagram post.
The actress questioned Suleman’s conduct as a pastor and challenged his assessment of developments in Abia State
Ogala also alleged that Suleman had not visited Abia State despite making public claims about the situation in the state.
She particularly disputed his claim concerning the availability of electricity in the state.
The actress further accused some people who identify as pastors of using religion to mislead members of the public instead of engaging in legitimate work.
She said: “Most people you see that call themselves pastors are lazy people. Who couldn’t work but decided to call themselves and start deceiving by claiming God called them. Some even go extra mile to involve in voodoo. Suleman Johnson, what is his work? Does that man look and behave like a pastor?
“Suleman, I know a lot that will shock the world. Forget the fact I said I don’t know you. I know a lot that happened at Protea Hotel Lagos including room numbers. How dare you come to lie that there is 24 hrs light in Abia? And you claim you were not campaigning.
“Not under my watch, I will not allow people like Johnson Suleman deceive my people any more, their target are people in diaspora. The main people living on the ground in Abia are suffering. You haven’t been to Abia and you openly affirmed Alex Oti. Suleman, it will shock you when I decide to expose you to the whole world. I’m not like the others you experienced.
The world knows I don’t lie. I speak with evidence. This is a direct attack on me and the people of Abia and it will not be tolerated. Bring your police and judiciary. I will face you head on.”
